Record-Breaking Dial-A-Carol: $28,000.00
This years Dial-A-Carol, which took place live on VOCM on November 27, in support of the Community Food Sharing Association was record-breaking! The campaign raised $28,000.00 (and counting) towards their Food Banks’ Holiday Hamper Program, aiding thousands of individuals and families in need.
This was the largest amount raised to date for our annual fundraiser. Hosts Paddy Daley, Linda Swain, Greg Smith, Claudette Barnes, Jolene Grimes, Brian Madore and Mike Wahl worked diligently to recognize all of the pledges, while volunteers worked tirelessly behind the scenes answering calls.
A $16,200.00 donation was put forward by Clarence Synard, a Newfoundlander living in Iqaluit who fundraises for the campaign every year. He said that it was a combination of cash donations and also some generous company donations, including KRT.
VOCM Cares would like to thank all hosts, volunteers and especially donors for an incredibly successful 2022 Dial-A-Carol. We look forward to doing it all again next year!
