With his “can-do’ attitude and positive approach Gerald has helped ensure that youth were given opportunities to grow, develop and succeed. Through his mentorship, leadership, and instruction, countless youth in Canada have given back to their own communities and have become today’s leaders.

He has guided the branch through tough periods, and under his command he has led the branch through various projects including a $175,000 addition to the branch building in order to provide classroom space for the local Sea Cadet Corp group.

Gerald has made a significant contribution to the town of Brigus. As a councilor for four years he went above and beyond the normal call of duty, delivering exceptional results and providing superior mentioning to fellow colleagues. He also has served as a member of the Brigus Volunteer Fire Brigade, with two years as Fire Chief.

Gerald is well known and well respected in the community and gives fully of himself for the betterment of everyone around him. He has not only been a passionate volunteer and leader, but he has mentored and inspired many others to also give of their time to help strengthen their community.
